    Job Title: Procurement Buyer

    We are hiring a Procurement Buyer to support direct procurement activity for manufacturing at our global engineering business.

    The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a Buyer or in a purchasing/procurement role and be able to work closely with the supply chain to ensure continuity of supply.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Review and process purchase requisitions in MRP, confirming availability and ensuring timely delivery.
    • Liaise with internal departments, including Production, Engineering, Stores, and Shopfloor, to coordinate procurement activities.
    • Manage supplier orderbooks in MS Excel, using pivot tables, vlookup, and formulas to optimize performance.
    • Develop and implement recovery plans for underperforming suppliers, ensuring they meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs) related to quality, cost, and delivery.
    • Expedite material shortage issues and produce reports on shortages and supplier performance.
    • Identify and qualify potential new supply chain partners, driving productivity opportunities to deliver cost-out goals.

    Requirements:

    • Purchasing/procurement experience as a Junior Buyer, Buyer, or Senior Buyer.
    • Strong supplier management skills, including managing supplier accounts, orderbooks, and recovery plans.
    • Data analysis skills, particularly in MS Excel, using pivot tables, vlookup, and formulas.
    • An appreciation of quality considerations and traceability.
    • Experience with MRP systems.
    • Enthusiastic, adaptable, and motivated team players, comfortable working site-based 5 days a week, 8-4:30 pm Monday to Thursday, and 8-1 pm on Friday.
