Sharp Consultancy are working in partnership with a well-established wholesaler business based in Barnsley, who have experienced significant growth in the past 5 years, and currently turnover circa £35m.

They are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join their finance team on a full-time, permanent basis. This role is based in an accessible location, being just off of the M1.


We are expecting a salary of up to £25,000 depending upon experience, plus other benefits, including 23 days holiday + 8 stat, rising to 25 days holiday + stat.


This is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced Purchase Ledger Clerk to join a small and welcoming team that will look to support and develop your skills further.

Key responsibilities of this role include, but not exclusive to:

  • Validating supplier invoices by matching them to approved purchase orders
  • Processing invoices onto the system for subsequent payment
  • Identifying any potential invoice discrepancies
  • Supplier query resolution
  • Assisting in the preparation of supplier payments
  • Supplier statement reconciliations
  • Reviewing systems and processes, suggesting any improvements
  • General finance administration duties
  • Experience of working in Accounts Payable/Purchase Ledger
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong IT skills (Excel and relevant accountancy software)
  • Experience of working in multiple currencies (Desirable)
