General Office and Accounts Administrator


We are looking for an experienced and responsible administrator to perform a variety of accounting, administrative and clerical tasks in a growing multi branch, family run decorators' merchants based in MerthyrTydfil.


Working as part of our office team, duties will include, providing support to our managers, employees, and customer, assisting in daily office needs, and managing our company's general administrative activities.


You must be able to prioritise your workload and show initiative, as well as having excellent verbal and written communication skills.


Required Key Skills:


  • Computer literate and proficiency in MS Office (Particularly Excel).
  • Experience of working with accountancy or ERP software packages such as Oracle, SAP, Sage.
  • Willingness to learn new processes and tasks including our ERP system (K8 / Kerridge Commercial Services "KCS").
  • Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
  • Good mathematical skills
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage administrative processes.
  • The ability to work effectively in a busy environment as part of a team and on their own.
  • Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
  • Good telephone manner and ability to handle incoming calls and any following up required.

Desirable Qualifications

  • AAT or relevant accounting qualification.

Responsibilities:


  • General office administration including working with our ERP software to manage the business data.
  • Develop and maintain the filing system both electronic and paper based.
  • Liaise with senior management to assist with requests and queries.
  • Purchase Ledger and sales ledger queries
  • Assist in the preparation of regularly scheduled reports
  • Assist with researching new deals and suppliers for office and general purchasing.
  • Maintain contact lists
  • VAT Returns
  • Payroll
  • Assist with vehicle records, MOTS and servicing
  • Any other duties deemed necessary by the company


This role will suite individuals with a "can do" approach who are looking to work as part of a small friendly team, undertaking a variety of office-based tasks.

Hours 08.30 until 17.00 with 1 x hour lunch break.

(Flexibility on working times considered)

Monday to Friday

Pay range between £22,500 - £24,960 depending on level of experience and qualifications.


Holidays: 33 per year including Bank Holidays (Worth noting that we offer above the national average annual leave immediately with new starters).
