Job Summary:


  • The purpose of the Service Coordinator is to support and enable services to deliver for the people of Camden in an efficient and effective way.
  • You will ensure the professional delivery of established processes to support the organisation. Working closely with colleagues, you will work together to identify areas for improvement, ensuring that support remains appropriate for all service users.
  • The role of a Service Coordinator enables services to meet their strategic objectives which enables the smooth running of functions that deliver for our citizens.
  • This role will focus on the delivery of one of our current priority areas by ensuring that we support services in enabling colleagues across the council to have the tools that they need to deliver their roles effectively.

Key Duties/Accountabilities:


  • To support prospective carers of completion of FP2 forms and liaise with Business Support and the allocated social worker or Independent Social Worker in respect of the outcome of the checks.
  • Maintain oversight of the Permanency Planning Meeting including scheduling meetings, minuting, and tracking cases.
  • Assist in providing responses to Freedom of Information Requests as required and requested by Head of Service / Service Manager
  • Arrange for weekly Performance Meeting with the Service Manager and Team Managers including preparing a spreadsheet of work on a weekly basis to ensure ongoing oversight of performance within the service.
  • To provide support with recruitment, interviewing and onboarding new staff.

To support the Team Managers to maintain trackers of work being undertaken by the team (as required) and assist in data reporting.


  • To provide flexible team support, working on a range of business support and administrative activity that adds value and supports the Fostering and Permanence team.

Record minutes and notes in routine and sensitive meetings, when requested by the Service Manager or Team Managers, in accordance with statutory and local guidance, ensuring that data is handled confidentially.


  • Provide support in the scanning of documentation for archive and support the retrieval of associated documentation.
  • Plan, book and support a range of key meetings for the service including meetings with external partners.

Essential Experience Required:


  • Experience of accurately taking minutes in a citizenfocused environment (for example safeguarding minute taking experience) is essential.
  • Experience of working in a children and young people's service is essential.
  • Experience of dealing with customer service, a range of internal colleagues and external business visitors is essential.
  • Experience in the use of efficient systems of administration including financial and statistical databases is essential.

Additional information to note:


  • Working hours: 36 hours per week
  • The role is hybrid with a minimum of 3 days per week, however, could be more if the service requires it.
  • The closing date for this position is 14_th_ March 2024._
