Job Description:

The Team


In the Customer Data Services (CDS) Lab, we have an opportunity to join the team at the heart of the Bank's data strategy, where Customer Data is owned and provided across the Group via APIs and strategic streaming technology to enable customer journeys across all the core channels - Internet Banking, Telephony and Branch.


CDS prides itself on providing a collaborative environment where's everyone opinion is valued and crowdsourcing ideas to ensure we identify the right solution whatever the challenge.

We provide data services to stakeholders across the Bank from integrating new Insurance Pensions & Investment (IP&I) systems into OCIS, to enabling the latest Mobile App functionality through providing access to our APIs.


As a Product Owner in the CDS Lab, you'll have the opportunity and responsibility to engage and collaborate with those stakeholders giving you a truly cross-Divisional perspective on Group Data change roadmaps and strategy.

Our team is looking for a hardworking and adaptable Product Owner. A technical leader with data domain expertise, a growth mind-set, and a dedication to leading change.

As Product Owner for the Lab, you'll realise value for customers and stakeholders by ensuring that teams are working on the right priorities, achieved by fostering collaborative, empowered teams and nurturing them to take ownership of the relevant outcomes.

We want our Product Owners to stimulate innovation whilst mitigating risk, conducting data driven test and learn activities.

What You'll Do

  • Work together with your Lead Engineering counterpart in a 'twoinabox' model to jointly lead the product team providing a great value proposition to your stakeholders from across the company.
  • Lead agile multidisciplinary teams by blending both deep domain and technical expertise across a number of component and feature teams who build, deploy, and maintain capabilities and services enabling earlier value release for our customers.
  • Within the framing of a reference architecture and strategy, work with business areas and engineering to set the product direction and roadmap for the product and services.
  • Engage with senior business leaders to understand longterm strategic data challenges.
  • Meet the needs of customers related to a range of products and services, defining Business Value Goals that resonate with your data stakeholders.
  • Articulate a Product Vision and Roadmap to take your stakeholders on the journey.
  • Be an advocate for the client within the Lab working in a crossdisciplinary team, delivering exciting customer driven solutions and highquality software.
  • Work alongside multiple divisions in an agile environment dealing with backlogs and delivering use cases for the various business units as well as working on software orientated products/projects.
  • Continuously show and prove the value of the team's outcomes.
  • Take responsibility to formally grow capabilities within the data business, while personally investing in the growth of own and others' capabilities elsewhere in the organisation through mentoring and other informal methods.
  • Take responsibility for developing and delivering change management plans and achieving outcomes that support the organisation's overall strategy.
  • Be part of the broader Data & Machine Learning product owner community driving and supporting initiatives
  • Hire and grow delivery talent as well as coaching and mentoring colleagues to enable them to reach their full potential.
