Your new role:


An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 Outreach Advisors (QTS required) - 1 full time position (37 hours per week) and 1 part time (2 days per week 14 hours) in the Inclusion Team starting as soon as possible.

The Inclusion Outreach Team forms part of the Inclusion Team.

We work in partnership with schools (including Academies), services and families to increase inclusive practice, identify and remove barriers to learning, aid the prevention of fixed term and permanent suspensions and support reintegration into education.

In addition, the role itself would also support the work of Children Missing Education and those who are electively home educated.


The Inclusion team has grown significantly, and we are pleased with the success of the team and are keen to have like-minded people on board for this exciting journey ahead.


As an Outreach Advisor Teacher, you will be part of a team responsible for duties related to children's access to education, the role carries out a range of diverse functions including completing observations, offering advice/strategies to schools, role modelling, providing written reports to support EHCP assessments and supporting the Inclusion Outreach Leads with organizing and delivering CPD events.

You will take an active role in supporting schools/families in accessing support through signposting to other services, resources, provisions and local facilities for parents and children.


The role will be a blend of based at the civic centre, visiting schools and other settings and some hybrid working but depending on needs of school/service this may change.

What you'll need to succeed:


To be successful in this role, you will need to be able to keep clear, comprehensive, and accurate records, have good attention to detail and be able to communicate effectively in writing and in person.

Previous experience of working with schools, statutory frameworks and use of Capita ONE would also be an advantage. You will need to demonstrate effective listening skills and ability to challenge with confidence where necessary, explaining your reasoning.


Training will be provided however, this role requires independent working, knowledge seeking and an attitude to regular reflection, review and improvement as legislation is updated.
