Job Description:


What you'll be doing

  • Responsible for the review of advice that has been provided to determine its suitability and whether the customer has received a good outcome in the light of all the circumstances and information which is available.
  • Ownership of advice standards for LTM and Retirement Advice. Responsible for ensuring advice process and standards provides good customer outcomes and meets all applicable regulatory requirements
  • Ownership of the Quality Assurance function to ensure suitable advice is provided and adherence to all relevant policies and procedures
  • Ensuring a framework is in place to assess whether customers have been provided with sufficient information to enable them to make a fully informed decision on whether to accept the recommendation presented to them.
  • Ensuring knowledge of the necessary regulatory requirements is kept up to date and that appropriate ethical standards exist within the first line oversight function
  • Ensuring that the business processes and operating procedures are implemented in accordance to regulatory standards, industry best practice and applicable L&G Group standards
  • Ownership of the Training & Competence Policy and standards for LTM and Retirement Advice.
  • Acting as an escalation point in relation to regulatory queries that are received in relation to advice and regulatory assurance and to effectively manage and/or delegate queries that are received directly from employees across the business
  • Ownership of QA methodology and the framework for the analysis of the reasons given for recommending products / propositions and determine, if other courses of action could have been suitable, whether these alternatives have been sufficiently discounted.
  • Monitoring the business area's compliance with the relevant, advice and associated policies, conduct risk, T&C and financial crime (antimoney laundering, data security, antibribery, fraud and corruption) policies ensuring that accurate, detailed and up to date compliance records are maintained
  • Taking the lead in all matters with regard to the management of employees, ensuring that management discretion is used in a consistent manner and that the area follows the Group's policies and procedures, including Legal & General's Partnership Agreement with Unite the Union, to maximise business performance

Qualifications:


What we're looking for

  • Strong awareness of Legal & General's business model and strategy, in particular Retirement lending products.
  • Good awareness of the wider business and regulatory environment and ability to understand the potential impacts of market and regulatory changes on L&G.
  • Strong understanding of the principles of risk management, especially in relation to regulatory and customer focused risks.
  • Awareness of wider risk profile associated with Retirement products.
  • Wide experience of risk management frameworks, including the design, implementation and maintenance of methodologies and practices.
  • Strong communicator, independent thinker with track record of working with senior stakeholders in large and complex organisations. Track record of effectively challenging and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Experience of leading and managing individuals within an oversight function.
