An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time PRC Laboratory Research Assistant in the Patient Recruitment Centre, BRI (formally known as the clinical trials facility).

This is an exciting post within Bradford Teaching Hospitals and a great opportunity for expanding knowledge and experience of clinical research Laboratory work.

The post-holder is responsible for supporting the PRC team at BTHFT through effective laboratory and administrative duties e.g.

handling and processing biological samples including sample labelling, sample storage, sample retrieval as well as troubleshooting equipment, performing quality controls, writing and reviewing SOPs, training other staff, liaising with different stakeholders and evaluating new equipment.

You will also be responsible for equipment maintenance, organising and shipping samples, stock control, ordering reagents/consumables, fridge/freezer logs and general good laboratory practice.

The post holder must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and good organisational skills. Must be willing to travel between sites

You will have problem solving skills that will allow you to make judgements and
decisions about job related situations.

You will be required to communicate information, some of which may be related to
patient management and care, to colleagues, healthcare staff and other
organizations.
