Bradford Council has recently established a new Sustainability Department, expanding the remit of its Clean Air Team, to provide the Council's response to the Climate Emergency and its ambition to make significant progress towards achieving Net Zero targets by 2030 through a wide-ranging programme of work addressing new opportunities for Sustainable Development across the Council and the Bradford District.

The Sustainability Department is now recruiting new roles to develop and implement this programme of work on new environmental challenges and deliver new opportunities for Clean Growth across the District.

Successful applicants will help to develop new strategies, best practice and operational frameworks for wider transformative activities across Council Departments and external stakeholder groups, to limit collective impact on the climate and ensure residents, businesses and public sector partners can adapt to the challenges of the future.

We are looking for Project Officers to support and coordinate a range of Net Zero and Sustainable Delivery projects and initiatives within the Sustainability Department.

These include new Net Zero Infrastructure projects funded by Clean Air Zone Revenue and/or private sector investment / external grants and Sustainable Delivery initiatives to support the Council and its stakeholders in their transition to a sustainable, circular economy across the District.

You will have experience of project monitoring, reporting and governance to ensure effective delivery and evaluation of projects against deliverables and outcomes.

The role will involve creating, managing and quality assuring all project documentation to appropriate standards, in accordance with project governance as defined by the Project Board.

Familiarity with project methodologies such as Prince2 is required to ensure compliance in accurate project forecasting and reporting, managing risk registers and implementing change control and project communications plans as required.
