Description

This is a key role in our Conveyancing Business, leading our training team and working to develop all staff across the business.


The role is to head up our training team who will lead the development of Property Lawyers across all of our Conveyancing centres, (Hastings, Cardiff and Manchester) from entry level to long-serving case-handlers to ensure they have the level of skill required to run all types of residential Conveyancing transactions.

You and the training team will also be required to provide training on our case management system, and to provide legal and soft skills training to all areas of the business.


As the Head of Training, you will be expected to keep up to date with changes in the law and ensure our training material is accurate.

You will also be required to work closely with our compliance teams to ensure that any relevant practical examples are included in training.


Responsibilities:


  • Ensure regular training is delivered on all conveyancing topics to ensure our lawyers have the opportunity to further their skills and progress through our lawyer banding.
  • Identify training needs across the Centres, and to make the appropriate development recommendations, working with the Legal Skills Trainers to facilitate delivery
  • Design, prepare and update legal training modules, which can be delivered by the training team to meet the business needs.
  • Evaluate the training carried out to ensure continuous improvements are implemented.
  • Ensure you and your team support our people in their "on the job" training, including case management systems training and preparation for external exams.
  • Be an inspirational role model for our people.
  • Coach and support members of the Training Team as required.
  • Brief groups of Lawyers to implement company policies, law and guidance
  • Assist, along with you team, with the onboarding of new starters to the business

Experience you have that will set you up for success:

  • Regulated by the SRA, CLC or CILEx desirable but not essential
  • Wide technical experience in conveyancing
  • Ability to inspire, train and coach others
  • Ability to summarise legal issues succinctly and provide practical and confident advice
  • Experience of mentoring and development
  • Knowledge of AML regulations
  • Strong system/process skills

Other helpful things to know:


  • Travel may be required to all Conveyancing locations as and when required.
  • Minimum 4 days per week in the office.
