Responsibilities:

SPEECH AND LANGUAGE THERAPIST (Children's Expert Team)
North Kirklees (covering Dewsbury, Batley and Spenborough)

Hours of work:
up to full time (37.5 hours per week) - flexible working opportunities available

Band 5 or 6:
Speech and Language Therapist or Specialist Speech and Language Therapist depending on experience.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a number of permanent Band 5 or 6 Speech & Language Therapists to join our friendly and innovative Speech and Language Therapy Team.
The role would involve working within a range of clinical areas (depending on experience) including:

Clinics, mainstream schools, and early years settings providing assessment and advice/intervention

- our Development Language Disorder and Autism caseloads supporting children in mainstream schools, early years settings and clinics
- our Complex Needs Team managing a caseload and working with other SLTs, SLT Assistants and the multi - disciplinary Team at the Child Development Centre (Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Children's Community Nursing) in clinics and other settings
- our stammering caseload, running groups and offering one to one support

The post holder needs to have the relevant degree in Speech and Language Therapy.

Experience of working with children with developmental speech and language delay, language/communication disorders, stammering and complex needs within a range of settings would be beneficial.

We are a friendly, dynamic, and hugely supportive Speech and Language Therapy Team.

The department offers mentoring, clinical supervision and a Personal Development Review system which ensures that training and learning needs can be identified and supported.
