CPD Registrant CPD Record Reviewer

The General Optical Council are seeking to recruit
Registrant CPD Record Reviewers within our continuing professional development (CPD) team contracted under the 'worker' framework.

CPD is a statutory requirement for all fully qualified optometrists and dispensing opticians to ensure they keep their skills up-to-date and develop new ones in order to practise safely and protect their patients.

Each role upholds our core purpose of protecting the public.

Through reviewing and providing detailed feedback on records from CPD Providers or Registrants you will provide quality assurance and promote high standards.

You will be a registered optometrist or dispensing optician. Experience as a contact lens optician or independent prescriber would be an advantage, but not essential.

You will have demonstrable ability to make clear, well-reasoned, evidence-based decisions, and experience of high-quality unbiased reporting.

Understanding of the Standards of Practice for Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians and CPD within modern systems of healthcare are essential for these roles.

You will be primarily working from home and must have reliable internet access, your own computer or laptop, and use of Microsoft Office.

There may be occasional requirements to attend the office for the purposes of training and development. Please see the job descriptions for further details of each role.

Applicants must be available during our key audit and review periods of April, June and October.
