Chief Operating Officer - Renewable Energy
Our client is a renewable energy organisation that is undergoing rapid growth.

It aims to help facilitate the energy transition demands of the UK and EU by developing and investing into large-scale solar and battery storage projects.

As the business expands, the Board of Directors seek a Chief Operating Officer to join the leadership team as a Group Board Director.

The COO will be instrumental in shaping and delivering the high growth strategy and direction of the Group.


Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for the commercial activities and daytoday running of the business
  • Advising the senior management team on business operations, potential risks and liabilities, service level standards, staffing matters and policy updates
  • Constantly improving company structures, processes and discipline
  • Setting comprehensive goals for performance and growth
  • Leading the company to achieve and surpass business KPIs
  • Establishing policies and promoting a positive and proactive culture
  • Collaborating effectively with the owner and other senior management
  • Maintaining and building trusted relationships with key clients, partners and stakeholders
  • Reviewing and negotiating EPC / O&M and other commercial contracts

Requirements:


  • Significant experience in a business leadership capacity in a renewable energy development business.
  • Experience working as part of a board of directors with PE backing.
  • Strong commercial and financial experience
  • Indepth knowledge of the renewable energy project development process from planning stages through to construction
  • Proven track record in the development of utility scale solar PV and BESS projects
  • Hands on understanding of the complexities of project development
  • Ability to quickly identify and manage project risks and to provide resolutions
  • Indepth knowledge of commercial contracts
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaboratively with senior stakeholders (internal and external)
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding time management and prioritisation skills
  • Ability and desire to work in a fastpaced, challenging environment
  • Ability to introduce new ideas and to challenge current practices in a cooperative manner
