The Safety Risk team, under the supervision of the Head of Operational Risk & Business Resilience and the Director of Safety, Security & Compliance, is tasked with developing, implementing, and maintaining safety risk management processes throughout easyJet.

Comprised of a select group of experienced specialists, the team oversees safety investigations and operational readiness processes, maintaining the easyJet Safety Management System.


The role of Senior Safety Risk Specialists (SSRS) within the team is pivotal, reporting to the Operations Safety Risk Manager and focusing on enhancing company safety performance.

Key responsibilities include fostering innovation and continuous improvement in risk management and safety investigations, collaborating with operational departments to prioritize and manage safety risks effectively, developing and maintaining safety management system documentation, ensuring the efficacy of safety plans, conducting or supporting safety investigations, designing and delivering training courses, and managing Standards Assurance programs.

The SSRS role involves close partnership with functional teams and stakeholders to ensure understanding and adherence to safety processes and procedures, while also driving ongoing enhancement of safety risk management across the organisation.


What you need to do this role


Strong interpersonal skills, leadership qualities, and the ability to influence others are crucial, as is the proven ability to communicate clearly and concisely with senior management.

You should also demonstrate a knack for challenging the status quo and driving organisational change.

Desirable qualifications include training or experience with risk management analysis tools and models, relevant certifications in airline operations risk management, completion of safety investigators courses, and previous experience in delivering training sessions.

Location & Hours of Work

  • This is a fulltime 40 hour per week position. We support hybrid working and we spend three days per week in the office.
