An exciting opportunity for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join the accounts team at Black Box Security Alarms Systems, for a 12 month period to cover maternity leave.

Privately owned, growing Fire and Security company based in Chorley.

Currently employ circa 70 staff across 2 companies within the Black Box Group banner - Black Box Fire & Security Solutions and ESI.

NSI Gold accredited company that specialise in delivering bespoke and tailored fire and security solutions.


What we are looking for


Due to maternity leave we are looking for an experienced accounts assistant to support and assist the Finance Controller and accounts team in the operation of accounts payable and accounts receivable, including the functions of Purchase and Sales Ledger, invoicing and credit control.

This role is ideal if you would like to gain experience of all aspects of a busy finance team. There is the opportunity to become involved in the production of the monthly management accounts.


What you will need to succeed

  • At least 1 years experience working within a busy accounts department
  • Experience of purchase ledger, sales ledger and credit control desirable
  • AAT studier desirable but not essential
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent problem solving skill
  • Must be an enthusiastic, committed individual
  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to work using own initiative and within a team

What you can expect in return

  • Salary £23,000 £25,000 depending on experience
  • 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
