Key responsibilities include preparing meeting paperwork, the effective administration of meetings, advising the governing board on procedural matters, supporting governor recruitment, and managing records on behalf of the governing board.

Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prepare focused agendas, take clear concise minutes and build excellent working relationships are essential requirements of the role.

Providing advice and guidance to the local governing board on governance and procedural matters, and contributing to the efficient functioning of the governing board by providing:

  • Administrative and organisational support (including minute-taking);
  • Guidance to ensure that the board works in compliance with appropriate legal and regulatory framework, and understands the potential consequences of noncompliance;
  • Advice on procedural matters relating to the operation of the board.
The clerk will act as clerk to the local governing board of one or more WHPT schools. Please see attached JD.
