Job description

  • As a Benefits Assessor you will join a small busy team of 10 processing staff, administering Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction claims for the citizens of Oxford.

  • We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven individual to join our team. With experience in the OPEN Revenues Civica system, you will be given the opportunity to showcase your ideas, your ability to adapt to an individual's personal situation in claim management, and work in a fastpaced environment. We are looking an experienced Assessment Officer to join our approach of challenging normal ways of working and look to invest in improved service delivery for both the public and Oxford City Council.
  • The purpose of this role is the administration of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction. You will be providing a high quality, customer focused service to residents, giving advice on Housing Benefit, Council Tax Reduction, Universal Credit and wider Welfare Benefits. This can be face to face, via phone or electronic channels. You will assess and process all types of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction claims and change in circumstances including complex claims of students, persons from abroad and the selfemployed. Accuracy and attention to detail are also essential as you will be responsible for compiling all the necessary information to accurately, calculating entitlement and ensuring notifications of entitlement issued are legally compliant.
