Hours:
Full-time, Hybrid working, both home and Uxbridge office based with some occasional international travel


Purpose:

As part of the Daiichi Sankyo UK Compliance team, support the Ethics and Compliance Director and the Business in all aspects of Ethics and Compliance Programme.

Supporting and leading the development and implementation of the programme in adherence with relevant Code and regulatory requirements.


The role requires and supports the development of strong cross-functional, communication and project management skills with interaction across all functions at all levels to provide robust ethics and compliance business partnering and support.

Ensure adherence to the company's ethical standards and leading the continuous improvement of compliance policies and procedures to meet all Daiichi Sankyo's legal, PMCPA and ABPI requirements.


Accountabilities / Measures:


1. Help ensure that DSUK has an effective compliance system that fulfils expectations both externally (ABPI / PMCPA) and internally (Global / Europe)

  • Support the business by providing high quality and regular compliance training, appropriate to the persons role and level within the organisation, ensuring effective records are kept and maintained.
  • Provide advice and guidance to the business relating to all aspects of compliance.
  • Support the development / update of all necessary compliance policies and guidance documents across the business, and ensure these are well communicated, rolled out, regularly trained and effectively embedded in processes across the business.
  • Collaborate closely with the internal compliance groups, providing specific advice and guidance to them and gathering feedback relating to process improvements as well as identifying and flagging potential risks to the Ethics and Compliance Director as appropriate.
  • Propose and implement measures to drive the desired Compliance culture and Daiichi Sankyo Values and Behaviours, including Speak Up, Integrity, Courage, Collaboration and Commitment.

2. Support the Compliance Director to identify, assess and mitigate compliance risks within the DSUK organization

  • Leading on the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the Ethics and Compliance programme.
  • Including but not limited to compliance training, risk assessment, mitigation, SOP and Policy development, communication and monitoring.
  • Business Partnering and enablement with the UK Sales, Marketing and Medical teams in the interpretation of and adherence to the ABPI Code.
  • Direct, develop and implement customised compliance training strategies.
  • Provide daily guidance and counsel on ethics and compliance policy interpretation and implementation.
  • Conduct routine monitoring of business activities and periodic risk assessments
  • Support and implement compliance monitoring strategy.
  • Lead / support crossfunctional projects to mitigate identified compliance risks
  • If requested, support the HR team on specific Speak Up and other employee investigatory or disciplinary proceedings.

3. Support the business in sourcing appropriate legal support

  • Support contract management.
  • Appropriately outsource for legal advice in order to:
  • Give judgement where contracts require additional legal support
  • Assisting on data protection relevant matters in consultation with EU Legal.
  • Keep abreast of developing trends, best practices, laws and regulations affecting the Company's business, and communicating them effectively within the organisation, driving appropriate change.

Technical/Professional Knowledge:


Essential

  • Broad experience in compliance and ethics programs within the pharmaceutical industry, including Anti-Bribery and Corruption, Competition and, as well as risk management and mitigation activities.
  • Practical experience with the UK ABPI Code of practice.
  • Experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry in Compliance, Sales, Marketing, Medical or related roles.
  • Good understanding of the importance of compliance to regulations and industry codes and experience working in accordance with regulations and industry codes
