Job Summary To support the Practice Nurses in the delivery of care to patients undergoing dressings, ECGs, venepuncture, and other treatment room duties.

To provide high quality care to the practice population to include screening, preventative care and education by participating in the provision of standard NHS Health Checks.


Key Responsibilities:

Clinical:
To work with the Practice Nursing Team in the provisions of dressings and compression hosiery. To run independent routine diabetes physiological check clinics Health promotion including diet, activity, smoking, alcohol.


Administration of immunisations as required under Patient Specific Directions Processing of specimens for laboratory testing Checking the safe function of practice equipment To contribute to the work of the practice nursing team and provide cover as needed.

To participate in Saturday morning clinics in rotation with other team members.


Professional:
Communicate effectively with other team members, patients, and their careers, recognising the need for alternative methods of communication. Organise and prioritise own workload and manage effectively, being adaptable to deal with emergency situations when needed.

Participate in annual appraisal.

Complete mandatory training requirements to include CPR, anaphylaxis, immunisation, safeguarding, information governance Attend study days, courses and complete e-learning as required to maintain safe standards of practice and ensure high quality care Participate in clinical supervision Managerial: Effectively manage own time, workload and resources Maintain high standards, clinically and administratively, in line with CQC requirements Participate in staff meetings to discuss and implement changes as well as to keep abreast of developments within the Practice and locality Generic Responsibilities All staff at Balmore Park Surgery have a duty to conform to the following: Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (ED&I) A good attitude and positive action towards ED&I creates an environment where all individuals are able to achieve their full potential.

Induction Training On arrival at the practice all personnel are to complete a practice induction programme; this is managed by the Deputy Practice Manager.

Learning and Development The effective use of training and development is fundamental in ensuring that all staff are equipped with the appropriate skills, knowledge, attitude and competences to perform their role.


Effective communication is essential, and all staff must ensure they communicate in a manner which enables the sharing of information in an appropriate manner.

Service Delivery Staff at Balmore Park Surgery must adhere to the information contained with practice policies and regional directives, ensuring protocols are adhered to at all times.

Staff will be given detailed information during the induction process regarding policy and procedure. Security The security of the practice is the responsibility of all personnel.
