We are currently looking for a International Payroll Specialist to join our Finance team based in Harwell, Oxfordshire.


Key accountabilities

  • Payroll processing using third party payroll providers for the EMEA region (incl Greece, Spain, Middle East, Poland, Austria, South Africa and also via other Ricardo entities) and Australia.
  • Ensure monthly payrolls are accurately processed by the payroll provider, liaise with them if any issues are identified and that all statutory reporting is processed accurately and on time.
  • Proactively manage the relationship with the Company's payroll providers, including working with our Global Mobility Manager to source providers (working with our third party advisors), setting up pay arrangements and manage their service levels.
  • Responsible for ensuring all new hires/leavers documents are reported to payroll provider within the timelines.
  • Work closely with HR colleagues.
  • Assist with tax and social security payments to the relevant country tax and social security authorities.
  • Keep up to date on legislative changes.
  • To provide support and cover for the UK payroll during periods of leave.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory financial practices and guidelines relating the payroll, pensions and benefits.
  • First line support for all staff payroll and tax queries.
  • Identify any areas for improvement and actively drive any agreed process changes.
  • Manage the employee benefits system for new starter choices, monthly amendments, leavers, annual renewals and dealing with third parties.
  • Respond to all payroll related audit requests.
  • Assist Finance with Reconciliations of payroll accounts.

Key competencies and experience

  • Experience of working with outsourced payroll is key with experience of dealing with international payroll beneficial.
  • Knowledge of defined contribution pension schemes.
  • CIPP qualification or similar would be beneficial.

  • Strong customer service orientation that reflects a sense of commitment and ownership.
  • Team player who can work collaboratively with colleagues and key stakeholders across the business.
  • Confident with excel and Microsoft packages.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and perform duties under pressure.
