We are looking for someone enthusiastic, passionate and qualified to deliver teaching and learning to join our learning and development training team that is reflective and creative in practice.


To work with Business Development, Administration and Compliance, and Operations functions to provide learners and employers with a smooth and compliant onboarding journey onto their programme of learning.


This role is designed to facilitate the development of qualified tutors and assessors by providing opportunities to deliver teaching and learning and gain teaching and assessment qualifications in the process.


While the role is initially home-based, facilitating enrolments, supporting learners, and delivering teaching virtually, as the role develops into a Trainer/Assessor role with progression, there is an expectation to travel to workplaces and visit Apprentices on a regular basis.

Qualifications will include accredited Apprenticeships and short courses.

You be using a variety of teaching and assessing techniques to ensure that the highest standards of bespoke learning is offered.

Duties:


  • To provide support as the first point of contact for the learner and the employer during the onboarding process through to hand over to their allocated Tutor.
  • To conduct interviews delivering Information, Advice & Guidance to learners and employers to ensure relevance, suitability, and commitment to the proposed programme of learning.
  • To invigilate Initial Assessments and conduct Skills Scan interviews/reviews.
  • Supporting the initial assessment process, identifying learners with additional learning needs, and referring them to the ALS Lead where required.
  • To take responsibility for checking the suitability of the apprentice, referring to alternative levels or courses where applicable.
  • To ensure eligibility checks, preenrolment activities and administrative tasks are completed to enable the timely start of the learning programme.
  • To facilitate booking and attendance at first day in learning workshops
  • To deliver the first teaching session and follow up touch base meeting prior to hand over to their allocated Tutor.
  • To book learners onto Study Skills and ePortfolio workshops prior to hand over to their allocated Tutor.
  • To use ELA's chosen ePortfolio system to demonstrate teaching, learning and assessment which has taken place prior to hand over to their allocated Tutor.
  • Setting up of OneFile for new learners upload evidence of exemptions, Skills Scan, CV and composition of a learner profile including information gathered from the enrolment process such as ALN needs, learning styles and working pattern.
  • To feedback on progress to internal and external stakeholders, escalating any issues where necessary
  • To ensure all activities are completed in line with ELA, ESFA, and Ofsted standards,
  • To always represent ELA in a professional manner.

Knowledge/Experience/Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3years' experience within specialist vocational sector
  • Experience working to a supervisory or managerial level.
  • Excellent practical and theoretical knowledge of vocational specialism
  • Industry specific qualifications, including Health & Social Care Level 3 Diploma (or above)
  • AET or PTTLs & Qualification for the Assessment of Vocational Qualifications (desirable)
  • Assessing and/or teaching qualifications (desirable)
  • Possess or working to a minimum of level 2 standard in Maths, ICT and English
  • Good IT skills working level of knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and other MIS and databases such as Onefile and SmartAssessor
