Description

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our dedicated Transfusion team, as fulltime Associate Transfusion practitioners on a 12-month fixed term contract.

The post holder will assist in the roll out and maintenance of the electronic bedside transfusion system.

They will also be responsible for organising and delivering training of the electronic transfusion systems, upkeep and troubleshooting of equipment and administrative duties which will include monitoring and maintaining staff training records.


The post holder will also assist and support the Transfusion Practitioner team in the provision of efficient and effective blood transfusion service by co-ordinating key administrative functions to ensure effective service delivery to the highest possible standard.


The post will be based within the department of Haematology, St George's University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust which is sited in the Medical School building in Jenner Wing.

This role will require visiting clinical areas and wards.

The main site, St George's Hospital in Tooting - one of the country's principal teaching hospitals - is shared with St George's, University of London, which trains medical students and carries out advanced medical research.

The trust also provides care for patients from a larger catchment area in southeast England, for specialties such as complex pelvic trauma.

Other services treat patients from all over the country, such as family HIV care and bone marrow transplantation for non-cancer diseases.
