    Job introduction:
    About the role:
Can you help unlock the city's aspirations for high quality buildings and place-making so that Brighton & Hove can adapt and develop attractively and sustainably this decade?

This is an exceptional opportunity to give design and place-making advice to one of England's busiest and most improved unitary Development Management services within easy reach of London.

You will have a wide-reaching impact on the city's architecture and appearance including realising the goals set out by our City Plans and recently adopted Urban Design Framework; working with council teams to shape strategic projects; and supporting our ambition to become Carbon Neutral by 2030.

The Planning Policy Team will be developing a new style Local Plan alongside design codes and you will have an important role in leading on this new area of work.

As a Senior Design Officer, you will be expected to provide training and to develop design skills of case officers with varying levels of experience.

You will be delivering projects, interventions and initiatives and develop policies in-line with corporate and business plans.
