MI5 safeguards the UK against threats such as terrorism, espionage, cyber and sabotage.

We investigate suspect individuals and organisations in the UK to obtain, collate, analyse and assess secret intelligence relating to these threats.

Alongside our British Intelligence partners MI6 and GCHQ, we provide the UK government with the information they need to protect national security.

At MI5 you'll enjoy varied and rewarding work in a supportive and encouraging environment that puts the emphasis on teamwork.

We have *Financial Accountant* opportunities across a number of mission-critical areas.

You could join us in *Financial Analysis*, where you'll take responsibility for key month-end activities, ensure the integrity of financial transactions, and deliver valuable insights.

You'll provide accurate forecasting that'll have a real influence on our operations.

And, you'll build collaborative relationships with senior managers, stakeholders and partners - all while managing and motivating your own team.

Or, you could join us in *Financial Accounting and Reporting*.

You'll provide assurance to senior managers by analysing and interpreting data, making sure it's ready to use as audit evidence.

As you'll be reporting on financial transactions made by the agencies, you'll ensure data integrity and challenge potential issues where necessary.

Not only will you explain figures in non-technical terms to key decision-makers, you'll lead by example as you oversee a team of one or two people.

So, you'll know how to communicate your findings clearly, while inspiring those around you.

We also have opportunities in *Financial Operations*.

Here, you'll combine your existing expertise with knowledge of our objectives and business areas to ensure we're able to respond to different needs.

Managing your own team, you'll promote excellent customer service, providing advice to operational areas on financial processes and supporting the provision of transactions.

Whether it's Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable or Cash Management, you'll manage internal controls and procedures and ensure operational delivery runs smoothly.

Additionally, there are other teams within the finance function that you could explore.

To join any of these roles, you'll need to be AAT Level 4 qualified and have demonstrable experience in a similar role.

Ideally, you'll be working towards a CCAB or CIMA qualification. And of course, you'll have a genuine passion for finance and an aptitude for figures and spreadsheets.

Due to the sensitive nature of these roles, you'll be based in the office five days a week but we do offer part-time, compressed hours and flexibility with your start and finish times.

Whichever area you choose, you'll be part of a welcoming, supportive workplace where you'll receive plenty of support right from day one.

We're proud to have dedicated support networks within our organisation, and to have achieved 'Leader' status as a Disability Confident employer.

You'll look to build on your skills and take advantage of dedicated training, including opportunities to gain professional qualifications.

If you're ready to keep the UK safe while developing a truly meaningful career, we'll value you.
