Description

Dementia Day Centre Volunteer

We are searching for passionate and caring volunteers to join our Dementia Day Centre at William Venton Day Centre, 8 Memory Lane, Plymstock.

Volunteering can make a difference to you, a huge difference to our clients and Age UK Plymouth

The Role

We run a range of activities within our Dementia Day Centre such as quizzes, learning new skills, dancing, singing, crafting, games, indoor sports, sensory activities, and much more.

We are most excited by our new Reminiscing Room, which our clients thoroughly enjoy.

We are passionate about providing our clients with an amazing experience and we would love for you to join us.

As a volunteer you will interact with our clients, help and support the group lead, assist in setting up the room, make much needed refreshments and encourage everyone to join in and interact within the sessions.

However, there is so much more to this role benefiting both the clients and the entire team.

Are you passionate about supporting your local community? Can you add a bit of sparkle to someone's day? If the answer is yes then we would love to hear from you.

To be successful in this role you need you to have a caring nature, good organisational skills, be a good listener, be honest, reliable (our clients in the Dementia Day Centre need consistency), empathetic, and enjoy being part of a team.
