Job Summary:


In this role you will be a member of the Workday BAU Support team supporting and enhancing our existing Procure to Pay "P2P" Workday functionality through continuous improvement as well as supporting the upcoming Record to Report "R2R" implementation as part of a wider finance modernization programme delivery.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Provide postproduction support and delivery of small change enhancements across Workday Financials.
  • Investigate and resolve support tickets relating to configuration, data and security within the agreed SLAs.
  • Escalate issues to the Workday Financials Platform Lead for additional support and resolution where blockers have been identified and/or SLAs cannot be met.
  • Work with end users and product owners across each Workday pillar to identify and work through cross functional impacts of any postproduction changes in Workday.
  • Work with the Workday Financials Platform Lead and Product Owners to identify any workarounds relating to Workday product design gaps and determine the best course of action in escalating issues (Workday Case Management system, Community Brainstorms for further support).
  • Assist the Workday Financials Platform Lead and Product Owners with twice annual Workday Feature Releases and prioritization of any optimization changes requested via the Product teams.
  • Work with the Workday Platform Lead to review and prioritize small change enhancements and deliver those enhancements through Agile ways of working.
  • Maintain detailed documentation relating to configuration, data and security changes for the purpose of audit reviews.
  • Carry out thorough end to end testing before deploying any changes to the Workday Sandbox and Production environments.
  • Ensure appropriate governance channels are followed and the necessary approvals are sought before deploying any changes to the Workday Sandbox and Production environments.
  • Work closely with the relevant internal teams (e.g. Information Security, Financial Controls) to ensure governance is followed in terms of changes applied to Workday's domain and business process security policies within the respective Sandbox and Production environments.
  • Provide knowledge transfer to Super Users and End Users in Finance, Finance Operations and teams across the wider business around resolution of Workday support issues.
  • Assist with updating Workday Financials training materials including knowledge based articles and other supporting documents available to end users within the ServiceNow portal.
  • Support the Workday Financials Platform Lead in managing the support queue and routing of unassigned tickets to ensure timely resolution.
  • Assist the Workday Financials Platform Lead (where required) with periodic KPI reporting in relation to Workday support performance and ticket trends.
  • Create custom reports (e.g. advanced, composite, matrix) to meet business reporting requirements.
  • Work with the Workday Platform Lead to provide design and delivery assurance over the work delivered by the appointed Workday implementation partner and understand if there are any design gaps and any post production impacts I any of upcoming Workday areas in scope for Release 2/Phase X Workday delivery such as revised Foundation Data Model "FDM", Record to Report "R2R", Business Assets.
  • Any PRISM and/or Accounting Centre experience will be highly desirable.
  • Any integrations experience related specifically to Workday Financials integrations would be desirable.

Person Specifications:

Role-Specific Competencies

  • Experience of working in a Finance team with experience of core financial accounting processes and controls is required.
  • Good understanding of financial/reg/stat reporting particularly in the Insurance industry would be highly desirable.
  • 3+ Workday Financials experience in AMS/CVS roles as a Workday implementer and/or Client Support is required.
  • Demonstrable experience of being able to troubleshoot complex Workday Financials configuration, data and security support issues and ability to identify the most efficient workarounds to resolve and optimize the business processes and controls within Workday.
  • Experience of using EIBs/Web Services.
  • Ability to create Workday Custom Reports, Calculated fields, condition rules, custom objects, custom fields is required.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills and ability to liaise with end users across the business.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills needed for prioritization and resolution of assigned support tickets.

Education and Qualifications

  • Experience as a Qualified Accountant is required.
  • Accounting qualifications such as CIMA, ACCA, ACA is required.
  • Current or Past Workday Financials Core, Foundation Data Model "FDM" and Record to Report "R2R" is required.
  • Report Writer certification is required.
  • Current or Past Procure to Pay "P2P", Business
