We are looking for a talented 3D Hard Surface Artist to join our team to create industry-leading hard surface art.

You will be a key member of our Art team and will be crafting assets that support core features of a huge AAA game.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their career and learn from some of the best Artists in the UK Games industry.


Responsibilities

  • Create hard surface assets based on realworld reference materials, blueprints and concept art.
  • Work closely and collaborate with Artists, Designers, Technical Artists and external partners.
  • Maintain a high standard of modelling and texturing to provide consistent and highquaity models.
  • Work from concept models and images to turn them into fully functional art.

Required Experience

  • Experience building Hard Surface models
  • Strong Attention to detail
  • Experience modelling and texturing high poly assets for games
  • Proven skills in 3D Art tools, specifically Maya and Substance or transferable skills from similar packages
  • Ability to clearly express your ideas and work with team members
  • Can both take direction and drive direction when required

Desired Experience

  • Understanding of the compromises and constraints inherent in the production of ingame art
  • Creativity to design your own assets from sketch to final model
  • Experience in setting up objects in Unreal 5 Editor
  • Experience in ZBrush and Photoshop
  • Understanding of PBR shader workflows
  • Understanding of vehicle rigging for games
  • Familiarity with node based material graphs

The interview process for the Hard Surface Artist roles is made up of 2 stages:

  • First interview minutes)
  • An informal chat to discuss your experience and working history relating to the position with our Principal & Senior Artist and our Studio Art Director. In return, we will provide a full overview of the role, life at the studio as well as answer any questions you may have.
  • Final interview (45 minutes)
  • A final Interview with our Studio Head and Studio Production Director. This will be a chance for you to get to know the Senior Management team and all the things that make Lucid, Lucid You will have a lot of opportunities to ask any questions about the studio and Culture.
