An opportunity has arisen for an experienced competent Secretary to work within the Op Magenta Team based at Sittingbourne Police Station.

Working with PA to the Business Management Team you would be responsible for supporting the Management Team Operation.


You will provide a full range of secretarial services, including but not limited to minute taking, audio typing, drafting letters of acknowledgement and producing correspondence, in order to provide full secretarial support to the Management Team Operation.


It is essential to have excellent communication skills as the post holder is you will be required to take telephone calls liaising with internal and external stakeholders at senior level as well as liaising and interacting with senior officers, police staff,internal and external agencies.


You will be required to administer the agency recruitment and onboarding processes, ensuring a smooth process for individuals joining the operation and ensure that all equipment required is provided.

This will require liaising and picking up equipmentfrom the IT team at Maidstone, therefore the ability to travel is essential.


You will need support attending and minuting meetings as required and have the ability to plan and organise a workload within a demand led and pressurised working environment.


You will be required to organise and prioritise your own workload and therefore should possess strong organisational skills, together with the ability to work independently and under pressure.

A good understanding of Police Environment and Policy would bean advantage.


A good working knowledge of Word / Excel and Outlook is required in this role and proficient in accurate transcription for audio/video typing and note-taking is essential.


You must also be willing and able to work as part of a team delivering support to the Team Operation as a whole when required.

Evidence of your ability to work within a team is essential.


It is essential that you are proficient in a range of IT products including Word, Excel and Power Point and are able to produce documents to a high standard, ensuring accuracy at all times.

Audio and shorthand will be an advantage, together with a highstandard of grammar.

This is a full-time role, working on a temporary basis for an initial 12 months with potential for the role to be extended.

The role pays
£11.49 per hour PAYE plus benefits.
