Frequently asked questions:

What would my role be?

  • As a volunteer Life Coach, you would support one or more students in achieving their selfdetermined goals (academic and personal). This would be done by contact every 2 weeks with your young person._

Would I get training?

  • All Life Coaches receive a free training course to 'set you up' for the challenge. This would include not only training in how to work with young people but also the specific methodology employed by the project._
  • The training will be different from most if not all others you have encountered. Because of the nature of the training, it is very difficult to describe in words, and therefore the most important thing is a willingness to attend with an open mind to a new approach._
  • This training will take place at the Harrow Club, 187 Freston Road, London, W10 6TH._

Do I have to have worked with young people before?

  • Having experience with young people would be advantage but by no means a necessity. Many previous Life Coaches have had no previous experience but have been very successful in working with the teenagers._
  • All volunteers will undergo thorough screening including an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check this will be paid for by the Harrow Club_
