Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver for our 94 y/o Mum. She has dementia (poor short-term memory) but physically active.
Position is flexible:
could be a visiting carer, or live-in is a possibility: self contained accommodation and even use of a car could be arranged as part of the remuneration package.
The role is to provide assistance and support and help with daily activities, promoting independence and ensuring well-being.Example duties:
- Provide companionship and emotional support.
- Help with meal preparation and shopping
- Administer medications as instructed by healthcare professionals
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks, including laundry and tidying up
- Escort to appointments and social outings
- Monitor and report any changes in condition
- Follow care plans and ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner
Skills:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Empathy and compassion for others
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Patience and understanding
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and handle emergencies calmly
