We are looking for Registered Care Home Manager who would like to join a supportive working environment and, make a different in our resident's lives, by having positive impact to their quality of life and being a friendly face, they can rely on.

**About our services: The Chestnuts is a residential care home in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire we are home to 64 residents. We provide a range of care and support service for our residents, some of whom have dementia.

The Chestnuts provides a friendly, supportive, and welcoming home from home environment with regular and varied activities. As well as outings and events are also organised.


Willowmead Court is a 12 unit Extra Care service adjoined to The Chestnuts that provides Domiciliary care to the people we support living independently in their own flat.

**Our Registered Care Home Manager needs: - At least 2 years' supervisory or management experience in a residential setting

  • Experience of running high quality residential care services that have achieved full compliance/a good or outstanding rating with CQC
  • Experience of managing budgets.
  • Strong people skills
  • Experience of selling to private payers.
  • Knowledge and understanding of specific conditions that affect older people such as Dementia
  • Level 4 Diploma in Health and Social care or Registered Manager's Award or NVQ Level 4 in Leadership and Management in Care Services or equivalent.
  • Assessment of the care and support needs of older people.
  • Working with older people with experience in a senior capacity, carrying out management tasks related to a residential care home.
  • The ability to develop effective relationships with residents, their families, staff and other professionals.
  • Good IT skills including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, the Internet and electronic care management systems.
**Our Registered Care Home Manager duties will consist of: - Ensuring that each resident has a person-centred care plan which is continually reviewed with the individual and their family.

  • Respecting the values, beliefs, and culture of everyone
  • Ensuring that any concerns, complaints, or requests are responded to effectively.
  • You will develop an effective personcentred team that supports each individual living in the service to be happy, safe, and well cared for
  • Planning the delivery of the care and support to the people living in the service.
  • You will take responsibility for the selection, management and development of all staff working within the service.
  • Daytoday running of the home, overseeing all activities within the home. As the Registered Manager with CQC you will be responsible for making sure the quality of the service and care provided meets the Fundamental standards as well as the standards setby Ambient Support.
  • To identify and participate in continual personal development, to maintain and develop the skills and knowledge required to support individuals.
  • To demonstrate competence as a 'fit person' to be a registered manager and be able to continue to act in this capacity.
  • You will be responsible for marketing and selling the private beds in the service and developing the service in line with local needs.
  • To work flexibly over a 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year basis, according to the requirements of the individuals being supported
