Administrator/Receptionist
Part-time hours per week
A busy 7-partner GP Practice is seeking a friendly and enthusiastic administrator/receptionists to join our busy and friendly team here in Wimborne, Dorset (due to promotion).
The role is principally greeting and booking-in patients at our front desk/receiving patient calls and booking appointments, and a variety of other admin duties.
The surgery has high levels of patient satisfaction and a pleasant and covid-safe working environment. Excellent communication and administration skills and the ability to work under pressure are essential.NHS or medical/healthcare experience essential.
Covid vaccination proof or medical exemption essential.
Hours of work:
To be agreed hours per week

- Good standard of general education
- NHS or medical/healthcare experience preferred

JOB PURPOSE
To provide a friendly and efficient reception and call handling service for the surgery
RECEPTION DUTIES
- Welcoming patients into reception and booking patients in
- Dealing with patient enquiries at the front desk
- Receiving telephone calls
- Dealing with queries regarding services offered by the practice
- Making telephone calls as requested
- Arranging appointments for medicals and other nonroutine appointments
- Taking messages and recording them
- Greeting and directing patients at reception desk and checking their appointments
- Handing out letters, completed forms, specimen bottles etc
- Accepting requests for completion of forms, eg private health insurance claim forms, passports
- Collecting fees for chargeable items (cash/cheque or chip and pin)
- Generating computerised repeat prescriptions
