Description
As a Senior Clinical Fellow you're expected participate in tier 2 on call rota for general paediatrics.

When on ward duty, you are expected to attend the consultant led daily hand over followed by the ward rounds.

You will be expected perform independent ward rounds and will be responsible to make sure all of the necessary investigations are undertaken and necessary treatment is provided.

You should be proficient in performing common paediatric procedures independently.

You will be responsible to liaise with subspecialty consultants both within the department as well as the tertiary centres to facilitate necessary management plans.

You will be expected to attend the multidisciplinary team meetings arising from the patients admitted.


At the children's assessment unit you're expected to facilitate necessary clinical assessment and management of children referred from ED and GPs.

You will be expected to triage the GP referrals to improve the quality of referrals. This also includes advice provided to the GP's to manage children in the community as much as possible.

You will be expected to do outpatient clinics in general paediatrics under consultant supervision.

Qualifications:

MBBS or equivalent

Full GMC Registration

Awards/distinctions whilst studying for 1stdegree

Academic and extracurricular achievements

Clinical Experience

Completion of Foundation training.

Experience of working on the junior tier paediatric rota.

Successful completion of PILS/APLS course.


Skills:

Ability to work as a member of a team

Ability to organise and prioritise busy workloads effectively

Ability to communicate effectively with patients, senior medical staff and other health professionals
