Rewind to 12th December 2012.

Out of a freezing cold office (because we couldn't afford heating back then), our founders huddled around a couple of laptops.

This was the moment.

After a year of working round the clock and a lifetime of tempering the thirst to create a world class brand, we pressed LAUNCH.

That was the moment Protein Works. website went live to the world.

It's not an overly fancy story, we know. There are no garages worked out of, no office in the Bay Area to talk up. But fancy isn't in our DNA, innovation is.

With the idea to rock the very foundations of a sports nutrition industry that had become stagnant, we set out to create a health and fitness brand that put pure quality & wow service before the lowest possible price.

We knew we'd be the underdogs from the very beginning. But you know what? We love that.


Fast forward around 10 years and the journey from humble Cheshire beginnings, to over 3 million orders shipped globally may be in the bag, but our future is just beginning.

So of course, it follows naturally that we believe in an in-house approach. We put talent and expertise at the centre of our brand. For us, team is everything.

In short, we don't 'do' agencies, and we emphatically believe our people are the best ones to create and deliver success.

The role

Freelance Videographer/Photographer

Role Details:


We're looking for a freelance videographer and photographer available 1-2 days per week and to join our Brand team in shooting professional video and photography content - with own or company equipment - for use on our website and organic social as well as paid media channels.


Reporting directly into the Global Head of Brand, you will be responsible for planning and shooting photo and video content and maintaining a steady flow on content.

You will shoot content based on briefs with a view to driving acquisition, engagement, and retention across all our digital channels.


You will be passionate about all things digital, obsess over every detail, and create as well as manage bold and impactful videos that deliver against brand and performance goals.


Working closely with stakeholders and team members, you will create briefed multimedia content that is topical, user centred, and continually optimised for a variety of channels including Instagram, Facebook, Youtube, and TikTok.


This role requires a hands-on approach, a passion for digital content creation and design, innovation and creativity, and a real ability to think outside the box when it comes to user experience and world class, unbeatable, unique, and digitally optimised multimedia content for social organic and paid media consumption.


Your Role

  • Shoot and supply raw footage and images to spec.
  • Work with the Global Head of Brand and wider Brand team to create video briefs and storyboards.
  • Work with our Design team and video editor to ensure all raw imagery and footage is accessible and ready to be edited in line with design requirements.
  • Maintain a steady flow of content and work against tight deadlines.
  • Set up lighting and, with help from our Brand team, help build our physical inhouse creative studio.
  • Create UGCinspired content, Youtube and Tik Tok videos.
  • Attend any/all brand shoots/events where a videographer and/or photographer is needed.
  • Work with the Global Head of Brand to ensure all content is best positioned to be amplified across all channels of the business.
  • Drive our search visibility and ignore the storytelling of the brand through rich media including photography and video.
  • Help to drive and deepen connections with our fans and influencer community at all levels.
  • Be a central and compelling advocate of the Protein Works brand, our customers, and customers' experience both on and off site.
  • Be conscious, accountable for, and supportive of the rest of the business in driving targeted YoY Growth and Revenue in all regions.
