We work closely with our in-house Foster Wales Swansea Team, Family and Friends Team, independent fostering agencies and Residential providers to ensure our children and young people receive the best care and are given opportunity to develop their skills before they become adults.

As a Senior Social Worker within the Looked After Children's Team you would be responsible for a caseload of children in addition to this your role will include:

  • Providing supervision to support officers in the team
  • Providing direction and support to support officers and social workers.
  • Co working complex cases with newly qualified staff
  • Chairing meetings such as Strategy meetings, family network meetings, Placement stability meetings.
  • Supporting families and professionals to develop safety plans
  • Undertaking and leading on child protection investigations
  • Supporting the team manager and practice leads in development of the team
  • Facilitating/ assessing student social workers placements.
