Purpose of the Role
To develop and co-produce the young people's programme within the Grand Theatre's business plan and its Arts Council England NPO funded Story-Led Resilience Programme.
Key Responsibilities
Liaise closely with all team members, ensuring the project is understood and 'plugged in' to the bigger organisational picture and connects with the management, support and supervision systems of the Grand Theatre, including regular reviews, programme updates and contributing to written reports.
- To produce and manage Blackpool Grand Theatre's 'Story-Led Resilience' projects with children and young people including; the 'Story Squad' project, the 'Illuminate' project (children experiencing life in care) Children's Theatre Partnership projects.
- To relaunch the 'Grand Young Company' codeveloping a new programme of work, some commissioned, some extant and working with 'Guest Directors' and 'Guest Artists'
- To produce a new 'Theatre Skills Access' programme for young people and 1825yrs that connects with the touring companies and the Grand's workforce. This will be a town
- To coproduce and support the 'The Schools Storytelling Festival' in partnership with the newly recruited young Story Ambassadors and the steering group.
- To set up a community of practice with youth workers, artists and practitioners.
- To set up a 'Young Curators' group and develop and a studio programme.
- To maintain a focus on continuous improvement and use initiative to develop new ways of working.
- To ensure that theatre resources are allocated and managed appropriately.
- To maintain positive external relationships and identify opportunities to develop new relationships for the benefit of the theatre
- To produce and manage the delivery of projects that are connected to the touring work for young people.
- Liaise and commission artists, touring companies and practitioners.
- To set up a young person led steering group for the Story Led Resilience programme.
- Manage any designated resources and budgets.
- Organise in house theatre logistics for the projects with the wider theatre team.
- To manage the evaluation, monitoring and reporting for the projects managed.
- Attend meetings and share communications.
- Participate fully in training and development activities.
- Comply with theatre's policies and procedures, security, fire regulations and health and safety policies and legislation.
- Liaise with the finance team to support the invoices, payments and budgets.
- Comply with Health and Safety, Equal Opportunities and Safeguarding policies at all times.
- Set contracts and Memorandums of Understanding with contractors and partners
- To network widely across the cultural education sector and with partners in Blackpool across public health, social services, the voluntary youth sector and independent artists and cultural sector
This may include Fylde, Wyre and Lancashire).
- Any other duty commensurate with the role and requirements of the business.
- To work with The Grand's marketing and audience development team to support young people's audience development.
Salary:
£25,000.00-£28,000.00 per year

- Monday to Friday
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Blackpool: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
