Job Title - Head of Fostering


Pay:

- £70k per annum + On Call Allowance + Car Allowance


Hours - 37 Hours per Week


Contract - Permanent


Location - Hybrid Home/office based (Stirling) working with travel required in Scotland.


Care Visions Fostering was established in 2005 and has grown to become one of the largest independent not-for-profit fostering agencies in Scotland.

We support circa 90 foster carers and 140 young people across Scotland and pride ourselves on providing a high-quality service.


Care Visions is ambitious to build on our well-regarded fostering service with innovative approaches to support our foster carers and the young people they look after.

We are committed to exploring and developing new approaches including the use of technology and how these can be used in building and supporting a community of foster carers.


Core Tasks


Reporting into the Chief Executive Officer of Children's Services, you will have responsibility for Care Visions Fostering service with direct line responsibilities for a Senior Manager and 3x Operations Managers.


  • Developing new approaches in fostering to be adaptive to the needs of foster carers, young people and the wider sector.
  • Designing a strategy for foster carer recruitment to support organic growth.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and management skills.
  • Responsibility for the day to day operations of the fostering service.
  • Coordination and development of our therapeutic approaches.
  • Building on our stakeholder engagement both internally and externally.

Main Requirements:


  • Relevant Social Work qualification.
  • Minimum of 5 years post qualifying experience and experience of management in a fostering setting is required.
  • Scottish Social Services Council Registration.
  • Experience of leading and managing others.
  • A proven track record in working with and on behalf of children, using a traumainformed therapeutic approach.
  • Knowledge of relevant childcare and fostering legislation.
  • Availability to travel, working flexibly including evening and weekends and to participate in the out of hours rota.

  • Good working knowledge of child protection procedures and legislation as applied to looked after children in Scotland
  • A good working knowledge and understanding of the issues facing parents and foster carers.
  • A full clean driving license and use of car (travel across Scotland will be required)
