Position Summary:_
The role of the Trunk Driver and Gatehouse Control is to primarily ensure the trunking leg between Castle Cary and Stoke (via Teddington).
Upon completion of the trunk leg this role will provide support to the Nights TMS Co-Ordinator and support with gatehouse duties.
This role requires flexibility as may require trunks to be completed to Stoke and back on odd occasions. This role will include an element of driver management and as such will be a good developmental role. The role will be approximately 50% driving and 50% gatehouse duties.-
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:_
- Complete the daily trunk leg between Castle Cary and Stoke via Teddington or direct.
- Adhere to the laid down procedure for the swap over at Teddington.
- Ensure all daily checks and transport legal requirements are completed fully and accurately.
- Complete daily timesheets.
- Complete and communicate daily handover.
- Adhere to all GDP requirements.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Dispatch drivers in line with departure schedule.
- Support the TMS Coordinator and help with system maintenance.

Experience, skills and knowledge requirements:_
- Understanding the various legal compliances required for the department.
- Hold at Cat C Licence or Cat C1 Licence
- Hold a current DCPC
- Organisational skills
- Able to prioritise workload
- Attention to detail
- The little things make a big difference. Accurate and comprehensive record keeping is essential.
- Customer care
- The role requires you are not only the face of the business but of the department.
