Description

The Faculty of Philosophy, University of Oxford, in association with Magdalen College, wishes to appoint a Departmental Lecturer in Philosophy of Language to cover the teaching and other duties of a permanent postholder during a period of externally funded research leave.

This post is for a fixed term up to 31 August 2027, starting 1 September 2024.


The person appointed will be expected to be able to deliver lectures in Philosophy of Language to undergraduates, to provide graduate teaching (classes or supervision) to Master's students, and to provide an average of 8 contact hours per week during term-time of undergraduate tutorial teaching for Magdalen College.

In addition, the appointed person will conduct research in Philosophy, and will undertake administration for the Faculty and the College including, but not limited to, participating in the annual admissions exercises and acting as assessor for undergraduate and graduate examinations.
