Surgical Care Practitioner x 1 Full Time Position

To join a team of 3 experienced Surgical Care Practitioners with a wide knowledge of cardiac and thoracic surgeries.

Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust catchment area covers East and North Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire.

There are three cardiothoracic theatres, 6 full-time Cardiac Consultants with an accompanying 12 ITU beds performing up to 850 Cardiac procedures per year.


Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is one of only 26 specialist Major Trauma Centre's across England and is also a Chest Wall Injury Society Collaborative Centre.

With 4 full-time Thoracic Consultants we provide a full range of thoracic surgery, including thoracic trauma, mínimally invasive video
- assisted surgery, robotic surgery utilizing the Da Vinci Xi system and an Electromagnetic Navigational Bronchoscopy service.

  • Performs a range of highly specialist surgical activities relating to cardiac and thoracic surgery with special reference to clinical, technical and scientific aspects, and including autonomous conduit assessment and surgical conduit harvest, acting as expert first and second assistant to the operating surgeon and expert camera piloting for mínimal access and port access surgeries.
  • Provides expert advice, opinions and training to own and other professions, including medical, relating to all aspects of cardiac and thoracic surgery. Role models excellent clinical and professional behaviour.
