Brief Description:

To identify, develop and maintain an effective working relationship between functions to meet Supply Chain Operations (SCO) delivery objectives. Managing optimisation and integration of resources, activities and interfaces between stakeholders. This is a 14-month opportunity.


About the role (External):


Key Accountabilities

  • Manage interfaces and strategic workflow between stakeholders, identifying and establishing new processes so to improve delivery.
  • Collaborate between SCO 24:7 and the SCO National Planning Team (NPT) to monitor and manage working procedures so to identify efficiencies and create resilience within the delivery process.
  • Deliver training and competency evaluations of Planning Specialists in liaison with the National Planning Manager so to achieve business continuity and address personal development needs.
  • Assist, under the direction of the National Planning Manager and with the coordination of the Operations Manager, cascading of relevant business information, processes and critical communications to the NPT and SCO 24:7 so a consistent communication channel is maintained.
  • Coordinate management of delivery resources within the planning and delivery timescales so to achieve an efficient transition between the two lifecycle phases of the plan.
  • Develop and deliver strategies with stakeholders to understand and deliver specific requirements, whilst reacting to operational circumstances so to develop resilience in the delivery plan.
  • Assist in coordinating the Planning Specialists with specific tasks so delivery priorities for the business and customers are aligned.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives in liaison with the National Planning Manager and Operations Manager so to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Represent SCO 24:7 and NPT at delegated stakeholder meetings so to maintain continuity in presentation of departmental obligations.
  • Engage with stakeholders to understand wider business changes that could have a potential effect on delivery so that continuous improvements can made.

Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Essential

  • Able to motivate others, particularly those not reporting to the post holder.
  • Good railway geographical knowledge
  • Good interpersonal, influencing, communication and organisational skills
  • Resilient, adaptable and flexible.
  • IT literate with strong MS Office knowledge and ability to use business critical systems
  • Experience of providing professional support within a complex and fastmoving environment.
  • Approachable and confident in dealing with a variety of enquiries with objective decision making.
Desirable

  • Understanding of railway engineering works.
  • Good understanding of supply chain delivery obligations and associated logístical delivery methods and contracts.

Salary:
£44,690 - £50,276 per annum

This is a 14-month fixed term opportunity.
