Cumberland Lodge is based in a 17th century, former royal residence in the heart of Windsor Great Park.

Cumberland Lodge is a charity that empowers people, through dialogue and debate, to promote social progress towards more peaceful, open and inclusive societies.


Our charitable work is supported by income from hiring out our stunning facilities for residential and non-residential conferences, meetings, training courses, and special events.

We are seeking to recruit 2 x Accounts Assistants to work closely with the Finance Manager to maintain an efficient and accurate finance function within Cumberland
Lodge.


Experience and person specification requirements

  • Working knowledge and experience of Sage accounting software.
  • Fully proficient in using IT systems, including Outlook, Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Good knowledge of accounting procedures.
  • Knowledge of financial systems and processes.
  • Demonstrates a logical and methodical approach with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Able to work with minimum supervision.
Windsor Great Park without easy access by public transport.


Salary:
£25,000 to £30,000 per annum FTE


Hours:
From 25 per week


Shifts:
Mainly office based, flexible working hours.

Annual Leave: 33 days including Bank Holidays which will be pro-rata. The Charity is closed over the Christmas period which will be deducted from the leave allocation.


Pension:
Standard Life contributory pension (currently 7% contributions to support 5% personal contributions, with the option to increase personal contributions over and above 5%)


Additional benefits: 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, annualised hours, meals on duty, uniform and training provided. Death in service benefit 4 x salary after a probation period. This policy includes employee support benefits, likely to include access to a virtual GP service and mental health support.


JOB DESCRIPTIONS (please note these may vary between the roles)

Role 1 Main duties:

  • Purchase Ledger
  • Coding and entering invoices onto Sage as directed
  • Manage PO system
  • Matching purchase orders to invoices
  • Circulating purchase invoices for authorisation to departmental heads
  • Reconciling supplier statements
  • Setting up new supplier on Sage
  • BACS Payment run
  • Compiling supplier/expenses payment runs
  • Uploading/inputting payment runs onto bank and ensure authorisation
  • Sending remittance advice
  • Posting payments on Sage
  • Liaise with suppliers re: payment of invoices, request credit notes.
  • Update monthly bar stock
  • Banking
  • Counting cash floats weekly and reconciling
  • Prepare weekly banking of cheques and cash
  • Input receipts and payments from bank onto Sage
  • Compile weekly bar sheets
  • Reconcile credit card settlements and post on Sage
  • Collate and reconcile staff credit card invoices and post on Sage
  • Assisting with departmental postings, filing, photocopying and other clerical duties as required

Role 2 Main duties:


Sales Ledger:

  • Raising deposit invoices including obtaining purchase order numbers as appropriate.
  • Post all sales invoices onto Sage
  • Update monthly 'deposits held' spreadsheet
  • Credit Control
  • Banking
  • Update KX (customer booking system) when customer payments made
  • Manage petty cash
  • Bank matching, bank posting and bank reconciliation.
  • Journals
  • Post monthly bar journals on Sage
  • Intercompany journals
  • Book and gift stock
  • Checking BACS processing report for any DD returns
  • Intercompany reconciliation
  • Year End Audit
  • Provide supporting schedules as part of the preaudit pack

Key Skills:


  • Good communication skill
  • Attention to detail
  • Organised and able to work under pressure and meeting deadlines
  • Excel, intermediate level
  • Financial software, ideally Sage 50 but not essential
