About the role:


The Instrumentation and Controls Graduate will assist with the Instrumentation and Controls systems to help develop new and existing production processes within our Automated Plant.


This role will be worked over a 4.5 day week (37.5 hours); Monday to Thursday 08:00 - 16:45 and Friday 08:00 - 12:30.

Flexibility in this role is critical to the success of supporting the team.


The responsibilities of the role include (but are not limited to):

  • Support the PLC Engineer in developing the control systems hardware and PLC software for current and future equipment
  • Employ fault finding techniques to support efficient resolution of manufacturing breakdowns
  • Utilise lean manufacturing tools and techniques: problems solving, loss analysis, continuous improvement etc
  • Participate in small projects to develop and demonstrate competency in technical and analytical aspects
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement in both machinery and process capability
  • Complete and document commissioning and testing of new equipment and upgrades to existing processes
  • Develop an understanding of ATEX regulations and Functional safety

About you:


Instrumentation and Controls Graduate / PLC Graduate Specification:

  • Right to live and work in the UK, with ability to obtain suitable level security clearance (5 years British residency necessary
  • Relevant degree with disciplines in Automation, Electrical, Electronic Engineering or Computer Science discipline
  • Knowledge of basic engineering principles, essential
  • Understanding of Programable Logic Controller, desirable
  • Understanding of SCADA and HMI systems, desirable
  • Knowledge of Risk assessments and method statement process, desirable
  • ESD Precaution knowledge, desirable
  • Proficient in MS Office
