Secondment Opportunity until 16th October 2024:
Academic Coaches (AC) are integral to the University's strategies to support student transitions into and through their academic study. All students at Foundation Year, Level 4 and international students at Level 7 have access to an Academic Coach. The Faculty provides academic and pastoral support to all students at the University. The Academic Coach role exists to offer pastoral support and coaching to students as they progress through the University.

Each Faculty has a number of Academic Coaches, and faculties are required to provide accurate, timely data on student retention, attainment, and progression to support the Access and Participation Plan (APP) targets.

The creation of the Senior Academic Coach role recognises the need for an organised and consistent approach to the day-to-day activity of Academic Coaches, which is led and overseen at Faculty-level by the Senior Academic Coach who will also be part of a cross-Faculty group working towards institutional initiatives and targets to ensure consistent practice and quality assurance of the Academic Coach provision.

A Senior Academic Coach would continue to work with individual students with an allocation to reflect the management roles and responsibilities.

You will be an experienced Academic Coach able to take collaborative oversight of how faculty Academic Coach teams are providing students with academic support and pastoral care, to improve engagement and facilitate independent learning, while gaining transferable skills for future employment.
