Description

Skaped is excited to announce the launch of our new Volunteer Programme Skaped is an East-London youth-led Artivist charity encouraging young people to engage with community building and social change through the creative arts.

We run relatable creative workshops, educational programming and art projects for folk 11-30 years old.

Our youth-led team is actively trying to create an organisation that prioritises care and acceptance within our activism (and our general workspace).

Skaped is a small and relatively new organisation so we often work collaboratively across our departments.

We're looking for people who have a strong passion for social justice, education, and/or creative arts, and who are willing to come to learn, grow, and try new things with our team.

We're unconventional and constantly trying to work differently from traditional social change groups to meet our team's needs; this also means we're paving our own path, so patience, initiative, good communication skills, and an innovative spirit is a necessities

Vision:

Our vision is an empathetic world in which young people use artistic expression to gain the skills and confidence needed to create and lead social change.

Mission:

Our mission is to equip young people with the tools needed to create social change by using the creative arts to reflect on their strengths and the collective power of the community.

Skaped's values, creativity, inclusivity, intersectionality, community empowerment, empathy, and social justice, are at the heart of everything we do.

As an organisation, we lead through care and acceptance; we believe that through intentionally creating empathetic environments, radical relationships are built that lead to a more just world.

Skaped is launching its 'Volunteer Programme' starting April 17th, 2023 This programme is intended for young people interested in becoming a part of the Skaped team as volunteers and lasts for 6 months.

Throughout this period, you will learn various transferable skills about running a creative social justice project while also having the chance to take part in paid work experience.

We're looking for passionate and committed volunteers to join our Skaped family, working up to 8 hours a week.

These 8 hours will primarily be remote work, apart from weekly in-person meetings on Monday evenings held in our East London office.
