Ms J Schofield | As Soon As Possible or Easter | Fast Track Lead Practitioner of History | Actual Salary MPS 3/UPS 3 (£33,814 - £46,525) + Temporary Additional Payment of £3,169 (TLR 3) | Applications from considered for experienced teachers with both a primary and secondary background


The Discovery Academy is one of the largest and most successful secondary Academies in the region with over 1,400 students.

Due to our size and continuing growth strategy we are able to provide innovative opportunities to seek, develop and nurture talent through our unique 'Fast track' roles.

Our Trust has a creative vision to education and are looking to appoint teachers from both Secondary and Primary backgrounds into the role of lead practitioner to support our innovative approach to KS3


This role is open to anyone who has completed their ECT training and is looking to gain the relevant tools and experience to become a Lead Practitioner whilst contributing further to the development of teaching and learning.

There will also be opportunities to provide CPD and work with colleagues in the department, across the Academy and wider Trust.

They will be committed to the highest standards of achievement and will be an ambitious History teacher.


The Academy boasts outstanding facilities, a state-of-the-art learning environment and was judged 'Good' following an inspection by Ofsted in January 2019.

Our growth programme includes a £4.5 million additional teaching facility.

The Academy is part of the Alpha Academies Trust which is located in Stoke-on-Trent and consists of two Secondary Schools, three Primary Schools and a Central Office team.
