Production Operative - woodworking spindle moulder/profile/assembly.

We are looking to expand our production team due to continued company growth and require someone who is eager to help, who thrives off challenges, and is continually striving to develop themselves and, in turn, the business.

Competitive Initial salary from £26K -30K per annum dependant on experience, with potential to increase based on performance, Including Pension Scheme Enrolment


Responsibilities:


  • Understand detailed technical drawings and blueprints
  • Prepare and set up machines and tooling for wood and plastic manufacturing
  • Set and use a spindle moulder through router
  • Operate woodworking machines, including 4 block head cutter, table saw, cross cut, ped drill & boring machine.
  • Listen for unusual sounds or detect excessive vibration in machinery to preempt problems & issues
  • Ensure that products meet industry standard tolerances and / or specific drawing tolerances and making adjustments as necessary
  • Select and adjust the proper cutting, milling, boring, and sanding tools for completing a job
  • Using hand tools to trim pieces or assemble products out of wood & plastic
  • Ability to work in a production environment, work on your own initiative and also as part of a team
  • Manage your tooling library including repair and sharpening
  • Full assembly of specific machined parts, adding fasteners and adhesives and connecting the parts to form an assembled unit

  • Skill in operating machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings
  • Computer savvy with basic understanding of computer programming and CAD/CAM
  • Mechanical aptitude

Hours: 07: Monday to Friday, 42.5 hours per week


Salary:
£26,000.00-£30,000.00 per year

  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Heywood: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (preferred)
