We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our expanding production team to help in producing the new range of high performance sports cars.

This role will be dedicated to the management of Line 3 Production (Test and Finals)


The role will be responsible for all production processes in line 3 to ensure the team delivers the required volume and quality standards.

This role will lead all operations on Night shift.


The role of the Operations Manager is to co-ordinate and lead the day to day activities of a multi-functional team, reporting into the Departmental head.

The role is responsible for the leading the individuals and teams to achieve the planned volume, controlling the cost and quality levels.

People management will include but not limited to, Development and Training, Absence management, Zone team effectiveness and a high performing leadership structure.


Night Shift Leader core objectives:

  • Achievement of the volume program, provision of clear actions if negative trends occur
  • Cycle time and schedule adherence, Action planning in place if negative trends are incurred.
  • Ensure New model launch is clearly planned and provisioned.
  • Ensure balanced workloads are managed throughout the shift by ensuring head count allocation is aligned to budget, coupled with appropriate training.
  • Adherence to quality targets, this will fall in line with "company imperative"
  • Safe working practices must be upheld at all times, continually evaluating your working environment by complying with SOT walks and adopting near miss reporting.
  • Monitoring & reporting against consumable expenditure, driving down reduction.
  • Control and reporting against scrap costs, driving down reduction.
  • Execution of methodologies for Lean Manufacturing, such as 5S, 7 wastes and continuous improvement, always striving for perfection.
  • Compliance to CCC and TS16949 at all times.

Night Shift Leader Duties:

  • Provide cover for absence within your team and have a flexible approach to working hours as business needs dictate, this includes a reasonable number of weekends per annum
  • Train & Mentor Managers, Group Leaders, Team Leaders and Team Members to achieve a high quality in working practices and processes.
  • Assist in the continuous improvement of production & business processes, Safety, Quality, Cost, Productivity and Moral.
  • Promote Team Member versatility charts and ensure cross training & skills development, this must be documented and signed to acknowledge.
  • Prepare for production by checking resource, equipment, tools, parts availability, consumables. (Readiness)
  • Take part in problem solving activities assist in analysis & resolution of problems, define & determine appropriate actions.
  • Drive quality improvement through the key gateways, ensuring robust and agreed rework solutions are in place.
  • Ensure safe working practices are adhered to and that all Team Members are using the correct protective clothing.
  • Track all near misses and accidents to solve any unsafe procedures. Report as required.
  • When required conduct performance reviews for areas of your team who require improvement, considering training, regular reviews etc.
  • When necessary, conduct disciplinary investigations or disciplinary meetings with the assistance of HR.
  • Maintain and endorse values and culture (housekeeping, appearance etc).
  • Lead by example, influence all team members and ensure they are fully motivated.

Night Shift Leader skills & experience needed:

  • No formal qualifications are necessary; however, experience in management within a production orientated environment, such as automotive, aerospace would be an advantage.
  • Understanding and experience in a manufacturing/process driven environment ideal.
  • For some positions, specific skills may be required such as diagnostics, repair and engineering resolution
  • Be able to demonstrate broad job knowledge of automotive processes and specific skills for the area in question.
  • Quality focused.
  • Good level of knowledge for Microsoft Office packages including SAP
  • Good communication skills during meetings and presentations

Salary:
£1,111,111.00 per year
