Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Data Analyst to join a growing and dynamic investment fund organisation.


This position will provide support to the firms' private fund client base while adding layers of value to existing client relationships.

You will be producing BI dashboards and reports to effectively present data to clients and stakeholders.


Salary £50,000 - £60,000 depending on experience

Central Brighton office

Hybrid working available


You will be dealing with significant amounts of operational and performance data that needs to be organised, readily accessible and flexible for different stakeholders.


Key duties:

  • Centralize and standardize data from multiple sources
  • Building and maintaining dashboards / reports for stakeholder consumption
  • Cleanse, prepare, and enhance large / complex datasets
  • Maintain systems and identify opportunities for process improvement
  • Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Create or update processes to efficiently analyse and assess data qualityMaintain existing data models that track private investments fund performance such as IRR, DPI, MOI and TVPI.
  • Produce adhoc models for clients for purposes such as fund raising or performance tracking.
  • Cultivate operational fund administration data and develop related KPI's that can be used to monitor and measure operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Support fund administration teams by producing and reviewing data driven workpaper schedules used in financial statements, investment valuations and other deliverables.

Desired Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related degree and/or an advanced degree in Data Analytics, Finance or Business Administration. OR equivalent work experience.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with performance calculations.
  • Understanding of performance and Benchmarking calculations and terminology (GIPS, PME)
  • Ability to identify trends, patterns, or abnormalities in data sets
  • Ability to simplify complex data sets

Preferred experience in the following:

  • Macro / VBA
  • SQL / SSRS
  • R / Python
  • Cloud data warehouse (Google Big Query / AWS Redshift)
  • AWS / Azure / Google Cloud
  • Power BI / Tableau
  • ETL frameworks
  • Business Intelligence / visualization software
  • Data security and provisioning
  • Private market data and / or reporting
  • Investment, Economic, Performance concepts
