Are you an experienced Therapy assistant looking for the next challenge? The Therapy department at NMUH is looking to recruit a B4 Therapy assistant practitioner to work alongside skilled therapists in the Acute Stroke Unit.
To undertake specific skilled support work to aid the rehabilitation of patients, particularly stroke patients, designated by the Therapy teamTo carry a caseload, working largely unsupervised, treating patients with complex conditions including neurological conditions within agreed parameters set by Therapists, monitoring progress and making alterations to treatment programmes, as required
To represent the Therapists at MDT meetings giving accurate feedback on patients' therapy intervention and progress
To carry out a range of administrative tasks including stocktaking and IT based work
To work part of a seven-day rota, where applicable
To assist with the rehabilitation of patients within other teams which may include Critical Care /Wards as and when required
The Therapy Service at NMUH provides assessment and treatment in the following specialities:
- Acute Stroke Unit
- 20 beds
- Admission Avoidance Team (ED/AMU/AAU & OPAU)
- Critical Care Rehabilitation & respiratory team (ITU / HDU & CC Outreach to wards)
- MSK outpatients
- Medical Rehabilitation (medical / neurology / oncology / HIV)
- MFE) Paediatric IP & OP
- Older Peoples' Acute Care & Rehabilitation (Medicine for the Elderly
- MFE)
- Surgical Rehabilitation (including elective & trauma orthopaedics & surgery)
To carry a clinical caseload comprised of patients with varying conditions and practice skilled and specialist clinical support work consequent to the therapists' assessment.
